Reclaimed Timber, an original production from Chicago ensemble Beyond This Point in partnership with Urban Rivers, will take you on an immersive journey of sound and light as you explore natural areas near the Chicago River. Six percussionists play on six pieces of wood for an entire hour, allowing hypnotic rhythms and undulating waves of sound to crest and fall into each other, blending with the sounds of nature and the City. Accompanying the sounds is a reactive lighting installation made from over 5,000 LEDs and over 200 paper lanterns.

This performance is FREE and for audiences of ALL AGES.

Rain date: September 7, 7:30pm.

The park entrance for The Wild Mile is at 905 W. Eastman St,  behind the REI store. The park is accessible via an ADA-compliant ramp, and is open 24/7.

Presented by Chicago Park District’s Night Out in the Parks.

The Wild Mile is the flagship project of nonprofit Urban Rivers. This floating ecopark takes a wildlife-first approach to public greenspace. Learn more here.
